The sale has come about as a result the machinery being owned by a Chinese company having taken it to Vietnam in 2023 to undertake an offshore wind power project. Since the project was completed the support operation vessels and machinery have remained idle at a Vietnamese wharf. The barges, cranes and other machinery have potential for a developing Australian offshore windfarm assembly operations.
